Volvo CE and Unicontrol announced partnership to bring the software company’s 3D machine control technology to Volvo excavators. The collaboration between the two companies will allow Volvo CE to maximize the benefits of its advanced technology by developing systems that are open, accessible and intuitive to use for greater efficiency. The technology has been engineered to work easily within Volvo excavators, with one interface and one set of hardware.

Integrated directly into Dig Assist, this collaboration ensures greater freedom, efficiency, and simplicity – without added complexity – on every job site” 

The Unicontrol 3D system will first be introduced in select European markets later this year and developed and made available globally in the future. Volvo Co-Pilot will function as the main user interface, from where operators will have access and use Unicontrol 3D without any additional monitor or hardware in the cab. When customers order Co-Pilot with Dig Assist from factory delivery, all the hardware and software needed is installed. The only additional step is activating the Unicontrol 3D application, allowing users to hit the ground running.
